Troubleshooting
App crashes on launch
- Make sure you're running the latest version of Big Brain Barbell
- Ensure your device is running iOS 17 or later
- Try force-quitting the app and reopening it
- Restart your device
- If the issue persists, delete and reinstall the app (note: this will remove your data unless you have iCloud sync enabled)
Widgets not showing data
- Widgets require an active program with scheduled sessions
- Try removing the widget and adding it again
- Restart your device — iOS sometimes delays widget updates
- Make sure you've opened the app at least once after installing
Sessions not being generated
- Sessions are generated when you complete the last session of a week, or when you create a new program
- Check that your program has at least one goal with exercises assigned
- Verify your training days per week setting in the program
- See the Training Sessions guide for details
Progress charts not updating
- Progress data comes from completed sets with weight and reps logged
- Make sure you're completing sessions, not just starting them
- Charts require at least two data points to display a trend
- Check the date range filter in Progress Explorer
iCloud sync issues
- Verify iCloud is enabled in Settings > [Your Name] > iCloud
- Check that Big Brain Barbell has iCloud access enabled
- Ensure you have available iCloud storage
- Sync may take a few minutes, especially for large amounts of data
